Design Notes

The gene was extracted from its original vector, pNG, and inserted into pSB1C3. An illegal PstI site was then removed through site-directed mutagenesis.

pNG, acquired from the lab of B. G. Turgeon and described in "ChLae1 and ChVel1 Regulate T-toxin Production, Virulence, Oxidative Stress Response, and Development of the Maize Pathogen Cochliobolus heterostrophus" (Wu et al. 2012).
